Official Contest Rules & Regulations
By entering the “Scotiabank Skaters” Contest (the “Contest”), entrants agree to abide by these Official Contest Rules and Regulations and the decisions of the sponsor, The Bank of Nova Scotia (the “Contest Sponsor”) which are final and binding in all respects relating to the Contest.
THE CONTEST PERIOD
The Contest begins on Monday, May 9th, 2022, at 11:59:59pm (ET) and ends on Sunday, May 29th, 2022, at 11:59:59 pm (ET) (the "Contest Period").
HOW TO ENTER
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, visit www.scotiabankskaters.com (the “Contest Website”), click on ‘Enter Now’ and complete and submit the entry form for the team(s) representing the province in which you reside (see Team Names listed under “Eligibility” below). Entrants must be the parent or legal guardian of a child (the “Child”) (who must be aged 12-14 throughout the Contest Period) on whose behalf they enter the Contest (each an “Entrant”). Entrants must be legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside at the time they are selected as a potential prize winner (“Winner”).
In order for a selected Entrant to be eligible to win a prize, the Entrant must be able to ice skate in a reasonably competent manner as determined by the Contest Sponsor. In addition, to be eligible a selected Entrant must meet any requirements or conditions imposed by applicable federal, provincial or local health authorities, the Hockey Canada or the arena, required to attend the arena and the game, including Covid-19 protocols.
All entries become the sole property of the Contest Sponsor and none will be returned for any reason. All entries must be received during the Contest Period. One entry per Entrant will be permitted.

Only Entrants who reside within the Province in the chart below are eligible to win a Prize (as defined below) to Hockey Canada Spring Events.

Entrants are not eligible to participate in the Contest if they are:

a member of the household and/or immediate family of any of the above parties. For the purpose of the Official Contest Rules and Regulations, “immediate family” means husband, wife, spouse, mother, father, brother, sister, son and/or daughter, whether or not they reside in the same household.
The Contest Sponsor shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest. Failure to provide such proof within a reasonable period of time may result in disqualification. All personal and other information requested by and supplied to the Contest Sponsor for the purpose of this Contest must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry or entrant in its sole discretion, should any entry or entrant at any stage provide untruthful, incomplete, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information.
THE PRIZES
For all Prizes, the Child of the selected Entrant listed on the online entry form will be named the “Scotiabank Skater”. Only the Scotiabank Skater will participate in the on-ice activities and not the Entrant or any other person.
2022 Hockey Canada Spring Events
There will be eighteen (18) prizes (the “Prizes”) awarded, each consisting of a game day experience for the selected Scotiabank Skater at a Hockey Canada Spring. Each Prize includes:

Four (4) tickets to the selected Hockey Canada Spring Event

Skating the selected country’s flag onto the ice

One (1) jersey

One (1) Scotia Hockey Club merchandise prize pack

Approximate retail value of each prize is between $400 and $1,000 CAD
The following conditions apply to all Prizes:
The Prize does not include transportation to and from the designated game related to the Winner’s Prize; it is the sole responsibility of the Winner to ensure they arrive at the specified time to obtain their Prize.
The overall Scotiabank Skater experience may vary for each individual game. The Contest Sponsor does not guarantee that the Scotiabank Skater experience for each Child will be the same.
Any difference between approximate retail value and the actual value of the Prizes as taken will not be awarded.
The Prize does not include the cost of, and each Winner must provide for his/her Child, any and all ice hockey equipment (the “Hockey Equipment”) as may be required by the Contest Sponsor in its sole discretion, including without limitation, a helmet, hockey skates, mouth guard, neck guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey pants, jock or jill, shin pads, hockey gloves, and hockey stick, and any other equipment which, in the sole opinion of the Contest Sponsor, is or may be required for a Child to participate in any activity at the designated game related to the Prize. Each Winner is entirely and solely responsible for obtaining and bringing to the designated game all Hockey Equipment required by the Contest Sponsor in its sole discretion (Contest Sponsor shall notify the Winner of the required Hockey Equipment when first contacted as a potential Winner). Each Winner agrees that he/she will cause his/her Child to follow promptly, and fully comply with, all of the Contest Sponsor’s directions and requirements in connection with any and all aspects of the Child’s participation in the Prize or in any Prize-related activity.
The Prize must be accepted as awarded without substitution and is not transferable or redeemable for cash or allowed to be sold. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prize in whole or in part in the event that all or any of the components of the Prize are unavailable. In the event that the Prize consists of or includes attendance at an event that is cancelled, delayed or rescheduled for any reason whatsoever, a substitute prize or cash equivalent will not be provided.
Any guests who are minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
In the event that the Winner is unable to redeem any or all of the Prize components due to reasons beyond the control of the Contest Sponsor, its employees, representatives, agents, the Hockey Canada Entities and all parties associated with this Contest, no compensation or substitution Prize will be provided.
The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to withhold up to 25% of Prizes for each team per year to use at their discretion in support of diversity initiatives supported by the Sponsor.
CONTEST DRAW
2022 Hockey Canada Spring Events
Random draws will be conducted at Majestic Media at 2015, 692 Queen St E., Toronto Ontario N3V 6T1, based on the eligibility requirements as set out in these Official Contest Rules and Regulations. Draws will be for Prizes to be fulfilled for home games in the selected provinces in the month following the applicable Draw Date. All Prizes will be fulfilled by The Marco Corporation at 470 Hardy Road, Brantford Ontario N3V 6T1.
HOW TO WIN
Contest Sponsor will send an online “declaration” form which must be answered within 48 hours of the Draw Date. If the potential Winner does not complete and submit the online declaration form within 48 hours of the applicable Draw Date, the Prize will be forfeited, and a replacement winner will be selected. If the replacement winner cannot be contacted by telephone or e-mail by the Contest Sponsor within 12 hours of being selected as the replacement Winner then the Prize will be forfeited and no further potential replacement winners will be contacted.
Each potential Winner must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question. The potential Winners will be contacted by telephone or e-mail by a representative of the Contest Sponsor to make arrangements for administering the skill-testing question. Arrangements will be made for the awarding of the Prize at the time the skill-testing question is administered and correctly answered.
Potential Winners must sign and submit to the Contest Sponsor a declaration and release that will include, without limitation, authorization for the Contest Sponsor and its agents to announce and publish the Winner’s and the Scotiabank Skater’s name, address (city and province only) and/or photograph or image or other likeness, without further compensation, at any time and from time to time, in any future publicity, and release the Contest Sponsor and the Hockey Canada Entities from any liability that may arise in connection with the Prize, including without limitation, a waiver on behalf of the Child to participate on-ice as a Scotiabank Skater. Such declaration and release must be received by the Contest Sponsor at the office of the agency administering the Contest at: The Scotiabank Skaters Contest c/o Majestic Media, located at 2015, 692 Queen St E., Toronto Ontario M4M 1G9 on or before the second (2nd) business day following the date that the selected Entrant was first contacted by the Contest Sponsor.
PRIVACY POLICY
The Contest Sponsor is committed to respecting the privacy rights of each Entrant and Child. Any personal information collected will be handled in strict accordance with the Scotiabank Privacy Agreement found at www.Scotiabank.com and all applicable privacy legislation. The Contest Sponsor will not sell an Entrant’s or Child’s personal information collected for this Contest to any third parties.
The Entrant and Child’s image and likeness as well as city of residence may be used by the Contest Sponsor for announcing the Winners as well as for promotional, advertising and publicity purposes by the Contest Sponsor in any media relating to the Contest or any similar future promotions and, unless an Entrant has expressly consented otherwise on the Contest registration page, any other personal information collected for this Contest shall be used by the Contest Sponsor solely for the purpose of managing and administering this Contest.
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Contest Sponsor is not responsible for any human or computer-generated error in the selection of an Entrant or the awarding of a Prize.
The Contest Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to withdraw, terminate or modify all or any part of the Contest, if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including as a result of corruption, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, a virus, a bug or any other cause beyond the control of the Contest Sponsor and which, in the opinion of the Contest Sponsor, affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest.
Contest forms are subject to verification by the Contest Sponsor. Any entry form that is, in the Contest Sponsor’s opinion, fraudulent, incomplete, mutilated or that does not allow the Contest Sponsor to correctly identify the Entrant will be automatically rejected and will not entitle the individual to an entry or a Prize.
The Contest Sponsor will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete or destroyed entries and all such entries, including entry material/data that have been tampered with or altered, are void. The Contest Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, electronic communications which are undeliverable as a result of any form of active or passive filtering of any kind, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. In addition, the Contest Sponsor shall not be responsible due to technical problems, traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an Entrant’s or any other person’s computer or property related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material on the Contest Website.
By participating in the Contest, the Entrant consents to the collection, use and disclosure of his/her personal information as well as the personal information of the Child by the Contest Sponsor for the purpose of administering the Contest, awarding the Prize and announcing the Winners as well as for promotional, advertising and publicity purposes by the Contest Sponsor in any media relating to the Contest or any similar future promotions.
Any person who enters or tries to enter the Contest in a manner which is unfair to the other Entrants will be automatically disqualified and could be referred to the appropriate authorities. The use of automated software or computer programs to register or enter this Contest is prohibited and any individual who uses or attempts to use such methods to register or enter will be disqualified. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. In the event it is determined that an Entrant has entered in a fashion not sanctioned by these Official Contest Rules and Regulations and/or has submitted more than the number of entries permitted by these Official Contest Rules and Regulations, the Entrant and applicable Child will be disqualified. The use of an invalid email address will disqualify the entry. Users spamming the same email address will disqualify the entry.
By entering this Contest, winners release the Contest Sponsor, the Hockey Canada Entities, their subsidiaries, affiliated companies, their advertising and promotional agencies, their employees, representatives, and agents from any and all liability for damages of whatever nature that arise from the acceptance, use or misuse of all or part of the Prize, or otherwise from participation in this Contest. The Contest Sponsor and the Hockey Canada Entities make no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind concerning any prize and disclaim any implied warranty.
All intellectual property, including but not limited to trade-marks, trade names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source code, drawings, illustrations, logos, slogans and representations are owned by the Contest Sponsor, and/or by their affiliates as the case may be. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to correct clerical or typographical errors in promotional materials or these Official Contest Rules and Regulations.
This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and is void where prohibited.
For Residents of Quebec, any litigation concerning the conduct or administration of this publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation concerning the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
